Hi!
Welcome to our new monthly newsletter, a fun summary of what we’ve been up to in case you missed it!
Live & unedited
Editing a web show and a podcast is a lot of fun and cleans up our, well, candid thoughts nicely, but we wanted the opportunity to meet some of you in the moment and get your take as part of the as-it’s-happening conversation, so we decided on the best possible way to do that: LIVE episodes!
No editing, no problem.
Right???
Were we nervous? Was Kristen going to pause and think for 30 minutes? Would LeNora’s wig fall off? What if Isabel spoke the entire show in Spanish?
None of that happened, not even a virtual food fight with our live audience. Although, that would have been fun.
Our first live episode was about whether parents are selfish for having kids. For our second live episode, we discussed what being childfree means. So many different opinions! Our audience had excellent thoughts to contribute.
Huge shoutout to all of you who attended the show!
We will do it again soon!
Replays of both episodes are available now on our YouTube channel and on Spotify, iTunes/Apple Podcast, Podbean, and other fine podcast apps.
Our buzziest meme of the month
This tweet was in response to an article about the “worrisome” declining birth rates in America. We repurposed it for our Instagram & Facebook, and this became our most-liked post in January.

Podcast milestone
We reached 20,000 downloads this month! We are thrilled! We love our bundle of podcast joy! Proud podcasters, we are! Champagne and cigars for everyone!
OK, we’ll hold off on the champagne and cigars until we reach 2 million downloads. Gives us time to stock up. And develop a taste for cigars.
The three of us appreciate all of you who listen and support our show. Childfree Girls is a collaboration experience that has exceeded our expectations.
Did you know?
Childfree Girls isn’t all we do! Each of us has something we love and work hard at outside of the podcast.
Isabel is the founder & firebrand of The Uprising Spark, which was created in 2019 to help courageous childfree women who want to heal the insecurities, the guilt, the shame, or the anger surrounding their choice to not have children by providing personalized coaching services so they can thrive and light up their world. One of the free resources that she created in 2020 was A Childfree Woman’s Guide to Thrive in The Modern World, which features over 30 pages of content that will help you live unapologetically and happily childfree. Isabel is also the host of The Honest Uproar Podcast, created with the main purpose to shine a light on #childfreestories told in the first-person by women around the World. She is currently working on new resources of The Uprising Spark to continue helping childfree women feel seen, accepted, and celebrated.
Kristen, in addition to being the author of The Age of the Child (mentioned at the beginning of each episode because it was written with the childfree perspective - and pro-life hypocrisy - in mind), is also the author of two other novels: Pretty Much True, a gritty, intimate, semi-autobiographical story of a woman’s wait through her soulmate’s Iraq deployment, and, under the name Chris Jane, The Year of Dan Palace, which explores the awkwardness of trying to live life to its fullest. Her current project is The 2020 Newsletter, a volunteer effort to gather individual stories of what 2020 was like for people of all genders, races, cultures, religions, and ages worldwide. “2020 will be in history books,” Kristen says, “and only we, with our individual stories, can keep history honest.”
LeNora runs a childfree lifestyle website called The Bitchy Bookkeeper, which features original articles, free childfree-themed meditation-videos, and more! She is also the creator of Childfree Journals: a series of paperback journals designed for the childfree community. For a free copy of her childfree journaling prompt eBook, click here. LeNora is also a co-founder of the 2021 Virtual Childfree Conference, happening July 31, 2021. Her current project is a podcast collab with her brother called Accidental Parenthood. She interviews her brother about his experience as a teen dad to now 30something single father of two.
